Advocates speak out and act on behalf of people when they are able to do so. Advocacy is a means to express their views and opinions on a range of issues, from the service they personally receive, to wider issues that affect many people.

Service users and carers are committed regularly to ensure that services are appropriate and are meeting needs. Service reference groups have been set up and users and carers are encouraged to be involved as much as possible.

Wirral Advocacy Project was set up in 1994 as a partnership between Wirral Social Services and several voluntary sector organisations.

More information is available from the Advocacy in Wirral website.
