The roots of Age Concern Wirral go back to 1948 when, in a small office in Hamilton Square, an Old People's Welfare Committee was formed, specifically devoted to the welfare of elderly people in the Birkenhead area.

Not all older people are the same and Age Concern Wirral has developed a range of services and activities to respond to individual needs, from day care for more frail and dependant people to social, leisure and educational activities for others.
