Ian Rush likes bananas.
If there's one thing that Dr Alan Scott can say he's learnt at Radio Clatterbridge it is just that. The former Saturday Crew member was given the task of interviewing the former Liverpool footballer one weekend.
"The rest of the team, who knew who Ian Rush was, were too star-struck to speak to him. So I was left to interview a world-famous football player!"
Alan spent many years assisting Dave Williams and Dave Adams on their Saturday morning programmes. But there was one nightmare morning that Alan will never forget. The two Daves couldn't make it to the studio, so Alan had to present three hours by himself.
"Everything was going well until some of our request collectors discovered that workmen had severed the cable connecting Radio Clatterbridge to the rest of the hospital. As a result, nobody could hear us!"
Now, instead of trying to get people to listen to him, Dr Scott is spending his time listening to others. He works at the University of Manchester researching languages and linguistics.
