Radio Clatterbridge is joining in the national celebrations for Hospital Broadcasting Week. The event is organised by the station's umbrella organisation, the Hospital Broadcasting Association, and is aimed at publicising the good work that charities like Radio Clatterbridge do around the country. The station is broadcasting endorsements from BBC Radio Two presenters Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce as part of the celebrations. Top Saturday 3rd April 2004
Presenter Andy Bonner begins a brand new journey on Radio Clatterbridge this evening. Andy, who has been hosting Cruisin' for the last ten years, is beginning a new programme - Seven Days. The 28 year old said "The programme has evolved so much over the last decade that it just felt a more appropriate name, considering its content. Seven Days will feature old favourites, such as the Unluckiest Person of the Week, and new features including The Week In View. Top Sunday 4th April 2004
Radio Clatterbridge has announced it's broadcasting an exciting range of special programmes over Easter. The station's commitment to be there for patients when they need it most is especially true on bank holidays, and this weekend is no different. Listeners can hear a variety of extra programmes, including Mark Lloyd's Songs From The Shows, two hours of classic hits friom Mike Eveleigh and Neil Jackson will be trawling through the archives with Lost And Found. Auxilliary nurse Pat Porter became the latest recipient of the annual Radio Clatterbridge Staff Achievement Award. The 64 year-old, who is due to retire from full-time nursing at the end of April, has been voted the favourite member of staff by patients at Clatterbridge Hospital. Singer Gerry Marsden paid a surprise visit to the Dermatology Unit to present the award to Pat, from Bromborough, this lunchtime. Over the 29 years she has spent working for the NHS, Pat has helped raise in excess of £10,000 for the hospital. Top Thursday 8th April 2004
Radio Clatterbridge is celebrating its 53rd birthday today. The station, which began with members of the Port Sunlight Boys' Club taking a record player around the wards, is now providing information and entertainment to patients and staff at Clatterbridge Hospital twenty-four hours a day. Presenter Neil Jackson today marked the occasion with a special programme delving into the Radio Clatterbridge archives. Top Friday 9th April 2004
Radio Clatterbridge's newest presenter earned his wings today, and instantly planned a Great Escape! Ian Grant became involved in the station after visiting Vic Charles for a special promotion with ASDA Upton, where he works. Ian was so impressed with the broadcast that he has now joined the team and taken over the Great Escape request programme from Vic, who will now concentrate on his Friday evening jazz programme.
