On Air To Care
Members of Radio Clatterbridge took to the airwaves today... on another radio station! Presenter Steve Lord is hosting a series of programmes as part of a week-long broadcast by Bebington-based Carers FM. Hospital radio was the topic of conversation tonight, so he called on the expertise of Clatterbridge colleague Mike Eveleigh to liven up the debate. Radio Clatterbridge's exclusive first interview with the Beatles was also replayed in full. Top

And The Winner Is...
Zoe Jones got the surprise of her life today, when she became the latest recipient of the Radio Clatterbridge Staff Achivement Award. The staff nurse from the Stroke Rehabilitation ward was given the accolade in a suprise swoop by local broadcaster Pete Price. Zoe was voted the favourite worker at Clatterbridge Hospital in 2005 by patients and visitors. In their nominations, patients described her as "very helpful" and "kindness personified". Her Ward Sister, Gill Ayriss, praised Zoe's dedication to her patients: "She's a delight to work with and really does lift spirits on the ward. "It is natural for stroke patients to feel frustrated or anxious. Zoe helps her patients to focus on what they want to achieve and stay positive, helping them make progress in getting on with their lives." The award is organised each year by Radio Clatterbridge volunteers. See more photographs of Zoe's surprise ceremony on our Gallery pages.
