Radio Clatterbridge celebrated another mile-stone today. It's thirty years since the station saw the begining of a full weekend schedule - the fore-runner to the twenty-four hour programming now enjoyed by patients and staff at Clatterbridge Hospital. This morning, Dave Williams joined Dave Adams and the Saturday Crew in the slot where he began his broadcasting career three decades ago. Dave Williams now presents Radio Clatterbridge's Easy Listening Breakfast programme every weekday morning. Top Saturday 13th September 2003
Radio Clatterbridge will be giving away prizes galore this month, to help raise awareness for the Breast Cancer Care charity. Listeners making a request to hear their favourite tune on Vic Charles' programme, The Great Escape, will be entered into a draw to win something from Asda's current "Tickled Pink" range. Later this month, one lucky listener will win a CD signed by the singer, Louise. The supermarket, which sponsors the Tuesday morning request programme, is aiming to beat last year's total of £1million to be raised for the charity. Top Tuesday 16th September 2003
Radio Clatterbridge, one of the leading hospital broadcasters in the north west, is launching a brand new information pack in the hope of attracting new sponsorship to the station. Committee member Dave Adams has written the publication and will be sending it to a number of local firms in coming weeks. It costs thousands of pounds each year to keep Radio Clatterbridge on the air. It's hoped the station can continue to bring a smile to patients' faces, by enlisting a number of businesses to help with the running costs.
