"Lock, Stop, Chain and Check" is the advice that could protect you from falling victim to a distraction burglar or bogus caller.

Bogus callers are people who turn up at your door unnanounced with the intention of tricking their way in.

A common method they use is to pretend they are from the water board or another utility company.

Also be careful when answering the front door that no-one else can access the rear of your home.
