Eric was speaking to presenter Dave Harvey just two days after the Antiques Roadshow rolled in to town and set up its stall in the shadow of the Lady Lever Art Gallery.

Hundreds of people braved the wet weather to show off their old and odd heirlooms.

The antiques guru shared some of his favourite finds, amusing anecdotes and revealed his theory about why ladies go to the toilet in pairs.

The Antiques Roadshow, hosted by Heswall-raised Fiona Bruce, will be broadcast later this year as part of the show's 35th series.
