![]() The Clatterbridge Hospitals League of Friends was formed on Monday 1st February 1954 and, since then, has worked tirelessly to provide a link between the public and the hospitals, and to raise money for additional amenities and other services.
Fund-raising events are held regularly to enable the League to perform one of its primary functions. In recent years, the organisation has provided television sets, chairs, mini-buses and even a new ecumenical chapel for the hospital. One of the main events of the year is Flag Week, when volunteers rattle cans around Wirral and Ellesmere Port & Neston. The League's late President, Viscount Leverhulme, had served the charity for 46 years since its inauguration. The League hopes to continue to be of service to Clatterbridge Hospital for many years to come, faithfully supporting the patients and staff through its voluntary efforts. The Clatterbridge Hospitals League of Friends is a member of Attend, formerly the National Association of Hospital and Community Friends.
