Nadya Movchan

Nadya Movchan Most people have a calling in life. Nadya Movchan had two.

"I left Radio Clatterbridge when I moved to Manchester to study medicine. I now work in a hospital in Birmingham as a doctor," says Nadya. "My other calling was 80s ballads!"

Nadya volunteered at Radio Clatterbridge during her sixth form years, from 2000 to 2002. She was assistant on the Music Matters programme, presented by 80s rock fan Gareth Martin.

"I think Radio Clatterbridge was my 80s music education - truly inspiring! Working with Gareth - someone so dedicated to searching out the best rock music, was a great experience, not to mention a fantastic giggle! I would sometimes bring in my own music offerings, sparking controversial banter."

Nadya says the whole experience helped give her confidence with public speaking and taught her a very valuable lesson in team-working: respect your differences and work with your strengths.

So what would she say to someone considering volunteering at Radio Clatterbridge?

"Go for it! Join Radio Clatterbridge and be part of a great team. We don't have a hospital radio station here at my new hospital. I think something is definitely missing."
