![]() Requests
The advantage of a hospital radio station is that it can connect with its listeners in a way that no other station can. When was the last time you heard about Steve Wright sitting at a listener's bedside and asking what they wanted him to play on his show?
There are a number of programmes dedicated to requests:
However, the station's policy is to play what a listener wants when he or she wants it. This means you could occasionally hear a classical track in the middle of a country and western programme, or the Sugababes during Jazz At The Bridge. If that's what a listener wants, the presenter will do his or her best to accommodate them. The ward visitors try to cover all wards of the hospital at least once a week. And sometimes the opportunity to chat to a new face can make all the difference to someone stuck in bed. Each year, Radio Clatterbridge plays hundreds of requests. Patients and staff are also encouraged to phone or write in with their requests. The station can be contacted on Freecall extension 4013 from any telephone on the hospital's system, or via the internal post system. Friends and relatives of those in hospital are also encouraged to make a dedication for their loved ones. You can do so on-line here or simply send us a text! |
