Radio Clatterbridge’s plans to begin broadcasting to the entire Clatterbridge Health Park for the first time in its history have moved a vital step forward. The charity has secured capital funding for the set-up of a new AM transmitter on site. Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology’s Charitable Trust is providing £5,000. The Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Radio Clatterbridge will provide £3,000 each. Efforts are continuing to raise money for running costs. The station will now apply for planning permission. If successful, it’s hoped Radio Clatterbridge will be broadcasting in time for the charity’s 60th birthday in April 2011.
