New Frequency Awarded

Ofcom, the UK’s independent communications regulator, has awarded Radio Clatterbridge a frequency on the AM (Medium Wave) band to broadcast programmes to Clatterbridge Health Park. It means that for the first time in its 60 year history, the station will soon be available for anybody in the area with a normal radio. Hospital patients currently hear the output via a closed-circuit landline system, restricting the potential audience. The charity is now liaising with hospital authorities to build a transmitter on the site. It’s hoped the first programmes will be broadcast on 1386AM before the end of the year.
