A Grand Christmas
December 5, 2011
Merseyside-based pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly has given an early Christmas present to Radio Clatterbridge. Station volunteer John Roberts met with company bosses at its manufacturing base in Speke to give a presentation about the charity and its work. Bosses were so impressed that they have agreed to donate £1,000 to the station. John’s life-long friend Derek Cross works in the technical engineering section at Lilly’s. The pair met at Port Sunlight Boys’ Club. Radio Clatterbridge was one of a 45 charities to receive a share of over £50,000. The site has had a long history of payroll giving. Each employee pound is matched by the company.
