Comedian Callum’s Got Talent

Young Wirral comedian Callum Oakley took to the airwaves tonight to prove he’s got talent.

He spoke to presenter Steve Lord at the start of a week which could change his life.

The 16 year old from Moreton was voted through to the live semi finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent by judges David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell.

If he gets enough votes following his first live television routine on Thursday night, Callum will go through to the programme final for a chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

However the Wallasey School pupil told listeners that he’s just concentrating on Wednesday’s show and controlling his nerves!

While Callum didn’t make it to the grand final, he was good enough to come back on Radio Clatterbridge to tell us about his experiences of the semi-final.

The teenager revealed how other comedians commended him for getting the audience on side during a very short time on stage.

Callum said it was a fantastic experience which will hopefully set him up for a future in showbusiness.

He has promised to let us know when his first local gig is planned. But he might be a bit distracted. Apparently he was mobbed by some of the girls wanting his autograph when he got back to school!
