Julian Davies ahead of his Solo Bike Tour

Solo Bike Trek Departs

Radio Clatterbridge listeners have heard how a Wirral man is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for charity – by riding to some of the most northern parts of Europe on a motorbike.

Chef and keen biker Julian Davies spoke to presenter Steve Evans ahead of his gruelling solo motorcycle challenge in aid of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Julian’s wife Jackie was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2010 and treated at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. She’s since made a full recovery.

“Thanks to Clatterbridge and all the personnel, she had the full treatment from masectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and she’s back with us thank God. So this is the inspiration behind the trip.” – Julian Davies

The six-week trip, on a DL650 Suzuki V-Strom, will take him to Nordkapp in Norway and deep into the Arctic Circle before returning through Lapland and Finland.
