Julian Davies reaches Norway

Solo Bike Trek Update

Radio Clatterbridge listeners have had an update on the progress of Julian Davies, as he tries to riding to some of the most northern parts of Europe on a motorbike.

The chef and keen biker is raising money for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Julian’s wife Jackie told presenter Steve Evans that he has successfully reached Nordkapp in Norway just through the Arctic Circle despite treacherous conditions including snow, ice and very strong winds.

He crashed three times, finally needing a recovery truck and staying with a kind Norwegian family for two nights.

The bike is now ridable again, and Julian is now heading into Finland bound for Helsinki.

Julian's bike hits the deck

Julian has covered over 3,000 miles so far and been travelling for 16 days. He has about three weeks and possibly 15,000 miles to go.
