Steve Evans shows off his rather loud London 2012 uniform

Steve’s Olympic Dream

Ever since Steve Evans heard about the Olympic Games coming to the UK, the Radio Clatterbridge presenter has wanted to be a part of it.

Now he gets his chance, as an official ambassador for London 2012.

He has had to go through three sessions of training in the capital for his role. He has also qualified as a World Host and will welcome tourists and visitors to London and the Games.

His uniform is a very loud coloured tracksuit with trilby hat!

Steve, who is also part of the Liverpool FC Disabled Supporters’ Association, will meet VIPs, athletes, locals and tourists during his five-day stint. From travel guidance to toilets, loss of property and general help, we’re sure Steve will be a great ambassador for our country.

“I am very proud of being picked for this as it is a once in a lifetime achievement. How many times will you see an Olympic Games in this country? The last major spectacle besides Euro 96 was the World Cup of 1966. The Olympics is so much bigger!” – Steve Evans

However, Steve isn’t the only “Clatterbridger” to play a part in the Games.

Former Radio Clatterbridge volunteer Sue Jackson is also in the capital. She’s putting her first aid skills to good use as a First Responder in the media centre of the Olympic Park.
