Port Sunlight Summer Festival

Here Comes The Sunlight

Radio Clatterbridge is to mark the first time John, Paul, George and Ringo officially appeared on stage together this week.

It’s 50 years since the Beatles performed at Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight.

It was the first time they had played since Ringo Starr became a permanent fixture in the band.

Listeners can hear their favourite tunes from the Fab Four on Radio Clatterbridge’s Beatles Saturday this weekend.

The station broadcast the first interview with the band in October 1962. Interviewer Monty Lister will be sharing his memories of the chat.

Radio Clatterbridge will also be broadcasting from the Port Sunlight Summer Festival on Saturday 25th August as part of International Beatle Week.

It comes as former presenter Ray O’Brien launches a new tourist trail with the Cavern Club and Wirral Council.

Beatles Across The Mersey features 29 sites, including Hulme Hall, showcasing Wirral’s links to the group.
