John Makes Waves With Queen Mary 2 Captain
Regular listeners to the Coffee Club will know that presenter John Roberts has taken some time off to visit New York.
But they won’t know that he returned with a ringing endorsement from the captain of the largest passenger ship in the world!
The presenter was travelling to the Big Apple on the Queen Mary 2 to celebrate a “significant birthday.”
After requesting a meeting with the Captain Chris Wells he was shown around the bridge of the magnificent liner.
Captain Wells, who joined Cunard Line in 1992, was impressed by the work of Radio Clatterbridge and wished the station well.
Better known for his seafaring, he has previously also expressed his affection of music.
“I love music and enjoy playing the piano when I get a chance. We are a very musical family, with most Saturday mornings at home dedicated to music.” – Captain Chris Wells
He is seen on the bridge holding one of the Radio Clatterbridge information leaflets.
