Janet Lacey with Carol Barnes

Childcare Experts Visit

Dad-of-five Phil Rostance got some top tips when two volunteers from the National Childbirth Trust popped in to the Coffee Club.

The pair revealed how a special group is being set up to support fathers in Wirral.

Carol Barnes, parent support co-ordinator, and Janet Lacey, branch co-ordinator, talked about the work of the NCT both locally and nationally.

They said it’s all about making new friends and learning from one another and revealed there’s even a dads’ group that’s being set up on Saturday mornings.

The charity supports mums and mums to be in a variety of ways. They provide a range of courses in relaxation, stretching and breathing as well as supporting with breastfeeding advice and even cake clubs!

Thousands of mums across Wirral have benefited from the Wirral NCT and each week many parents meet at the Light Cinema at New Brighton on Fridays between 10am – 12 noon and on the first Wednesday of each month parents meet at the Cherry Orchard at Arrowe Park between 7.30pm – 8pm and then afterwards the social gathering continues!

There are a range of second hand baby items for sales around the Wirral – so look out for some quality bargains.
