On The Road
Radio Clatterbridge took to the road today – to bring listeners all the action from the annual Clatterbridge Car Show.
The event was a big draw in the sunshine with many getting a little hot under the bonnet!
The show was held just down the M53 from the Health Park at the Vauxhall Sports and Social Club in Hooton.
Back for its second year, this year’s show was even bigger and better than the inaugural meeting at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in 2012.
“We take great pleasure in seeing everybody enjoying themselves and sharing our passion for everything motor related, but it is important to remember what the event is all about.” – Organiser Richard Brown
The event raises funds for a brain tumour research project at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
Organisers hope to raise £15,000 so that the scheme can take place.
A whole host of Radio Clatterbridge presenters turned petrol heads for the day to broadcast live from the club.
The vehicles on show included an Austin 1100 and a DeLorean made famous in the Back To The Future films.
Thanks to the hard work of the team, we also managed to raise some money for the station.
It’s hoped that thanks to the success of this year’s event, the show will be making an annual appearance.
