Gray Cracks The Egg Run

Radio Clatterbridge has joined thousands of motorcyclists in an annual charity ride.

Presenter Gray Hawke donned his leathers for the second tribute to the Wirral Egg Run.

Clatterbridge-based Claire House was one of three charities to benefit from the event.

Gray joined riders at the dips in New Brighton, interviewing riders at various points towards their destination at Claremont Farm near the Health Park.

The original event was cancelled two years ago because of a lack of funding.

Many of the tribute riders wore fancy dress, as Gray discovered when he met a Suzuki-riding pink rabbit called Sally!

“It was a lovely day. There were thousands and thousands of bikes. Everybody had a great time including all the people who turned out to watch the convoy go past.” – Gray Hawke, presenter

The North West Air Ambulance and North West Blood Bikes, a charity that supports the NHS by providing out of hours transport for blood transfusions, also benefited from the event.
