Masher mixes-up the tunes with Phil Rostance

From Boxing Club To Coffee Club

A Wirral boxer swapped the boxing club to join the Coffee Club on Radio Clatterbridge.

Birkenhead lightweight Sean ‘Masher’ Dodd came to the studios just 10 days after beating Liam Richards on points in his comeback fight.

Masher, who turns 31 at the end of June, went through the ‘tale of the tape’ on his 10-fight career and explained to presenter Phil Rostance how he had conquered all bar one of his opponents.

Unmarked from his recent points win at Liverpool’s Olympia on 21st March, Masher was joined by Venture Boxing stable mate Tom Morrow who talked at about what attracted him to the fight game.

Last time Masher visited the station, he was unbeaten in one fight.

Boxing fan Phil says it was good to be able to ask him questions about the several bouts he had seen.

“It was fascinating how he recalled fights in detail and how he managed to overcome their styles. I bet he is is a good chess player too!” – Presenter Phil Rostance

There was only one bout he couldn’t recall much and that was in his seventh fight – a points win against Youssef Al Hamidi.

Masher is back in action on 2nd May at the Club Envi, Fleet Street, in Liverpool. For further information contact 07985 470006.
