Charting Steve’s Success

The man behind the BBC’s new live TV chart show has ackowledged his roots at Radio Clatterbridge.

Fittingly, Steve Wynne presented a Top 40 show in the 1990s at the station.

Top industry magazine Broadcast carried an interview with the Bromborough lad who’s now in charge of the UK’s hottest new television music programme – the Official Chart Show.

Having previously worked at ITV and the Disney Channel, Steve was no stranger to telly.

But he told the magazine that his time in radio that created the excitement he needed to launch his latest project.

“Having religiously taped the pop charts every Sunday since the age of nine, presented a Top 40 show on Hospital Radio Clatterbridge, and gone on to produce ITV’s CD:UK, it’s fair to say the ‘Hit Parade’ runs through my blood.” – Steve Wynne, former Radio Clatterbridge presenter

The show is broadcast each Sunday at 6.30pm from the BBC Radio 1 studios – home of the DJs who first inspired Steve to get into the industry.

He is not only executive producer of the show but he is also the studio director, vision mixer and VT editor!

The programme is made by Pretzel Films for CBBC. It has been initially commissioned to run for six months.
