Idle Frets frontman Ben Davies in studio

Idle Frets’ Acoustic Treat

The frontman of local indie group Idle Frets has made a welcome return to Radio Clatterbridge.

Ben Davies was back in familiar teritory when he came into the studio to play a series of acoustic tracks for listeners on the health park.

The 18 year old singer song-writer revealed how he’s still working on new music.

And he told presenters Paul Allt and John Roberts how the band has gone through a few changes since they were last at Radio Clatterbridge.

Ben also revealed how the new line-up are all LIPA students – protégés of Sir Paul McCartney’s illustrious Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.

“He came in to do a little chat… It was really good. He was actually really funny. I don’t know what I expected!” – Ben Davies, Idle Frets

Accompanied only by his guitar, Ben played a number of tracks including Train Girls, Now You’re Back and an as-yet unreleased track which the quartet can’t agree on a name for!

Coffee Club listeners were also treated to the band’s new single, Aftershow.

Since we last spoke to them, Idle Frets have spent a lot of their time gigging – most notably on the same line-up as Razorlight, Dizzee Rascal and The Hoosiers at Chester Rocks.
