Call for listeners to check through their wardrobes!
March 8, 2016
Radio Clatterbridge listeners are being urged to check their wardrobes to help out a local charity.
Claire House gift shops are holding a fashion show with donated clothes to raise thousands of pounds for the Clatterbridge-based children’s hospice.
Debbie Robinson, from the Buckley shop, is organising the event.
She told presenter Steve Evans how they need more donations of fashion, jewellery and handbags to stock the sale.
The show takes place at Theatre Clwyd in Mold on Friday 8th April 2016 from 7pm.
“It’s going to be a fantastic event. Theatre Clwyd is an amazing venue and it’s got plenty of free parking.” – Debbie Robinson, Claire House
Debbie, who’s confident they will raise £5,000 on the night, explained how some high-end designer clothing will be available for a bargain – despite still having £500 price-tags on!
There will be plenty for visitors to enjoy, including a catwalk with volunteers, staff and friends modelling the fashions.
There will also be a raffle and a bar.
About 350 people volunteer in Claire House shops across the region.
The stores recently celebrating welcoming their one millionth customer.
“We’ve got 25 shops altogether and they raise a massive amount of money for Claire House. We raise over half a million a year to keep the hospice running. That’s a lot of money for 25 shops.” – Debbie Robinson, Claire House
Debbie says they are always looking for more volunteers to help them in their busy shops.
