Auctioneer John Crane

Auctioneer John Crane is back on his feet

One of Radio Clatterbridge’s favourite friends has made a welcome return to the airwaves after fearing he would never walk again.

Auctioneer John Crane has been absent from the station while recovering from an injury.

It’s two years since John joined Steve Evans as a regular guest on the Coffee Club.

But he was taken out of action and confined to his bed after ignoring a cut on his foot.

“It’s very difficult to keep cheerful when you’re under the weather as a lot of people listening will appreciate.” – John Crane, Auctioneer

The 70 year old explained to Steve how he thought he would never walk again after realising an infection had spread up his leg.

Thankfully, specialists at Clatterbridge Hospital’s sister site in Arrowe Park have helped John regain his mobility and he is now back at work.

John is currently celebrating 25 years since setting up Cato Crane Auctioneers in Stanhope Street, Liverpool.
