Clatterbridge does the Culture Crawl for Maggie’s
September 6, 2017
Radio Clatterbridge listeners have heard how they can learn all about Liverpool’s rich culture while raising money for a charity based in the health park.
Maggie’s Merseyside, which provides free practical and emotional support for people living with cancer, has just confirmed that the Museum of Liverpool will be the final stop-off point on its now annual Culture Crawl.
People from across Merseyside are expected to walk together for an evening of fun, food and culture, all to help people living with cancer.
Holly Smith from Maggie’s told Steve Evans how the charity decided to bring the event back for a second year after it became a huge success in 2016.
The event, on Friday 29th September 2017, gives participants a chance to see the city of Liverpool in a new light as they walk 10 km and get exclusive night-time access to some of the city’s cultural icons.
Other venues on the route include the Victoria Museum and Gallery, the bombed out church (St Luke’s), the Liverpool Medical Institution, FACT and ending at the striking Museum of Liverpool.
Walkers will be treated to cultural delights at each venue, including Merseyside’s Pop Vox Choir and Wirral Ukelele Fantatics.
All of the money raised will help ensure the Clatterbridge-based centre continues to provide free, professional support to all those living with cancer who need it across the region.
Registration for the event is £20 and participants are asked to aim to raise what they can.
A fundraising pack full of ideas will be available from Maggie’s Merseyside or by following this link.
All Maggie’s Culture Crawl walkers will get a free t-shirt and a medal.
