Radio Clatterbridge announces Doddy Day in memory of patron
Radio Clatterbridge has announced it will be giving an affectionate send-off to its patron, Sir Ken Dodd, with a day of happiness in his honour.
Doddy Day will celebrate the humour and music of the respected comedian with clips from some of his most famous performances and some of the singles that even gave The Beatles a run for their money.
As the world says tatty-bye to Sir Ken, on Wednesday 28th March 2018, listeners will also be able to hear memories of the 90 year old from some of his closest friends and fans.
“Sir Ken Dodd had a long history of supporting our station. So, in tribute, as family, friends and fans gather to remember him at his funeral, we will be celebrating his life.” –Paul Johnston, Programme Controller
Doddy sent birthday greetings to Radio Clatterbridge on our 60th anniversary in 2011:
“Many happy returns. I’m sure you’re doing wonderful work there. I remember Clatterbridge over the years. I’ve had so many reasons to thank you so much for so many people.” – Sir Ken Dodd
Sir Ken Dodd died earlier this month at the Knotty Ash home where he was born.
