Claire Bear squeezes into the studio

Claire House Bear takes over the studio

We have guests of all shapes and sizes in the Radio Clatterbridge studio – but few have been as exciting as this big cuddly teddy.

Claire Bear, the mascot for Clatterbridge-based Claire House Children’s Hospice, paid a visit to help promote one of the charity’s most glamorous fundraisers.

She popped in with colleagues Lauren Miller, Jess Murray and Jess Arnell to tell listeners about the Sporting Bears’ Dream Rides event and share some of their favourite songs.

Taking place at Liverpool’s Albert Dock on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June 2018, the owners of a range of sports and classic cars will be giving up their own time to raise money for the hospice.

People will be able to sit or even ride in the likes of a Ferrari, Rolls Royce or Bentley in exchange for a donation.

Some of the Claire House families will also get the chance to be taken for a free spin.

“Claire Bear will be there as well, although I don’t know if she’s going to fit in a Lamborghini!” – Laren Miller, Claire Hosue

It starts with 10 rides at 10am for £10, and then varies in price depending on the car.

There will also be face painting, music and games.

Claire House cares for seriously and terminally ill children and young people up to 23 years old.

The charity also supports their families with specialist nursing care, respite, day services and counselling.

“Our aim is to make the most fabulous memories and bring out smiles in the children.” – Lauren Miller, Claire House

We think that the Dream Rides will certainly do that.
