Abused daughter tells story to help others

A Wirral woman has taken the brave step of talking on the air about how she was abused by her father.

Caryn Walker came into the Radio Clatterbridge studios to share her story in the hope that it will help others find their own voice.

The 47 year old from Wallasey waived her right to anonymity after documenting the horrific abuse in her book Tell Me You’re Sorry, Daddy.

Her father Norman Yeo, was jailed for 16 years in 2011 after being found guilty of raping and abusing Caryn during her childhood.

Caryn’s sister Jenny, who was also abused, died in 2006 of a brain aneurysm.

She told presenters Ian Grant and Helen Sestan how she wanted to give Jenny the voice she never had and to help others who may have gone through a similar experience.

Caryn says it was a difficult decision to write the book but said it was for the right reasons.
