Sweet new sound for Radio Clatterbridge

Radio Clatterbridge has got a sweet new sound – thanks to a brand new suite of jingles made right here in the north west.

The catchy tunes, which went on air this morning, will be heard throughout the schedule.

Featuring a distinctive new sonic logo, the five new cuts replace a jingle package which has been played around the clock for nearly eight years.

They were composed by Lee Turner, Rob Wills and Simon Prentice at Manchester-based production company AudioSweets.

“It’s been great working with Radio Clatterbridge on their latest jingle package. The package they chose is actually one of my personal favourites. To produce a package for a station close to home and with passionate people is great and I’m sure they are going to sound great on air!” – Simon Prentice, Marketing Director, AudioSweets

The jingles are accompanied by voice-overs from actress Kate Robbins, who grew up in Wirral, and station stalwart Neil Jackson.

And for the first time, programmes are being given their own theme.

“This new suite of imaging really freshens up our on air sound. We’ve also used it as an opportunity to rethink how we do things in each hour of the schedule and around the top of the hour.” – Paul Johnston, Programme Controller

Meanwhile, a new programme and a familiar voice are joining the Radio Clatterbridge line-up.

From today, Coffee Club presenter Di Gaskell will be on air every weekday at 5pm with Clatterbridge’s Greatest Hits.

The two-hour programme replaces the Most Wanted with even more music chosen by listeners and some of our own favourite songs.

And Helen Craven returns to the airwaves to take over the Early Breakfast show.
