Spend Christmas with the Radio Clatterbridge family

Its a family affair on Radio Clatterbridge this Christmas.

Brothers Ron and Dave Berkeley will each present their own live programme from the health park to help celebrate the big day with patients and staff.

The pair are just part of a line-up of special programmes across the festive season – which has always been an important time for our schedule.

“While many patients are allowed to go home, it is often the most poorly who remain. We want to make sure we do everything we can to keep their spirits up and also entertain the dedicated workers who are on shift caring for them.” – Paul Johnston, Programme Controller

Christmas Day begins with a chance to hear this year’s Light Up A Life service from Wirral Hospice St John’s.

Ten thousand lights were switched on in memory of loved ones to raise money for the Clatterbridge-based charity earlier this month.

Dave Berkeley’s festive show begins at midday with two hours of mellow tunes to accompany your Christmas dinner.

Ron takes over the studio as the turkey settles with two hours of great oldies, festive music and, at 3pm, The Queen’s Speech.

Listeners can also hear the sounds of 25 local singers treating us to their renditions of a number of well-known festive favourites.

The studio was as full as it’s ever been as the members of Wirral’s Rock Choir crammed behind the microphones to record a special performance just for listeners in the health park.
