The Weeknd tops Radio Clatterbridge chart

The most popular song at Clatterbridge Health Park in 2021 has been unveiled.

The Weeknd’s 2020 hit Save Your Tears was revealed as Radio Clatterbridge’s request chart topper in a special programme on New Year’s Eve.

Presenter Paul Johnston counted down the 15 most asked for songs, 12 of which were completely new to the chart.

Runner-up was End of the Line, the 1988 song from super group the Traveling Wilburys, which last featured in 2019.

Blondie’s 1999 number one Maria completed the top three.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, almost 500 requests were played by the station over the last 12 months, chosen by patients, staff and visitors.
