Award nominations lead good news for station

The Hospital Broadcasting Association

Our volunteers were given some good news about the charity at our annual meeting.

The station has been shortlisted in two categories at the national Hospital Radio Awards.

The nominations for Best Special Event and Best Station Promotion follow Doddy Day, a day of special programmes in memory of our late patron Sir Ken Dodd.

The official announcement was made earlier this month by Alan Dedicoat, the BBC broadcaster and patron of the Hospital Broadcasting Association.

The results will be revealed at the HBA's national conference in Stoke-on-Trent at the end of March.

Members of Radio Clatterbridge gathered for the charity's AGM in the health park to re-elect the executive committee.

They heard presentations about various developments at the station, fundraising, engineering and request collecting.

Our committee members for 2019: Ron Berkeley, Paul Johnston, Dave Harvey, Steve Evans and Mike Eveleigh

Committee member Mike Eveleigh reported back from a conference with the broadcast regulator Ofcom.

There was also a tribute to our vice president Dave Wilson who passed away last year.
