Our Friend Faron

Our Friend Faron Radio Clatterbridge's Merseybeat expert, Ray O'Brien, has been mixing with the stars again. Faron (from the popular sixties band Faron's Flamingos) popped down to the studios today to preview some previously unheard tracks from his latest album. The singer recalled the early days of the Liverpool music scene prior to the Beatles, his first encounter with the Fab Four and the starving months playing in Hamburg where the champagne ran free, but all they dreamed of was fish and chips! Despite having suffered four heart attacks and having two hip replacments, Faron is still working hard with his Flamingos and regularly performs in local clubs.
