The Tranmere-born actor and singer, best known for her role as Hyacinth Bucket in the BBC comedy Keeping Up Appearances, will be opening the newly made-over gardens at Wirral Hospice St John's.

Alan Redfern decided to complete the 214-mile coast-to-coast challenge to help Maggie's Merseyside which provides support, information and practical advice for patients and their families.
