First airplay of new song from The Jagz

The Jagz in the studio with Mike EveleighRadio Clatterbridge has been showcasing some new talent on the Merseyside music scene.

The Jagz are a Wirral based indie-psychedelic rock quintet.

Liam, Lewis, Brad, Paddy and Kieran popped down to the studio to share their story and their music.

"It started from nothing really. I had the guitar and was asked if I fancied being in a band. It was very chilled out at first." - Paddy

The band all grew up together, with four of them going to St John Plessington Catholic College in Bebington, and started by jamming together as a "bit of a mess around".

But a year later they've signed with a record label and recorded their first few tracks.

The Jagz took over the studio and we even let singer Paddy read the weather forecast.

We were pleased to give The Jagz their first radio play of their new song This Man Never Cries - a tune about life and overcoming sadness.

The band spent their first year locked away working hard on their debut single 21:27 which was released in the summer.

The Jagz are aiming to bring out an EP in the new year.
